Basic polyline entry rules
Entering polylines
- Entering two points and pressing ESC automatically creates a rectangle.
- Polylines that have to be closed (e.g., for hatching) close automatically when you press ESC or click the first point again.
- When you click an element, you can either define a point on the element or choose to use the entire element or parts thereof as the outline.
- Using the Input Options you can specify how the polyline entry tools are to behave at any time.
- You can create areas composed of any number of areas by clicking Multi in the Input options and then using Plus and Minus to define whether the area is to be added or subtracted from the overall area.
- To quickly select closed outlines you can use Area detection in the input options for entering polylines. Closed outlines within an area are detected and cut out automatically when Island detection is switched on.
