Entering expanding bending shapes
Tool(s): Bar Shape + Mesh Shape
When you enter an expanding bending shape, a preview (not to scale) of the desired bending shape is attached to the crosshairs. As soon as the program detects an appropriate component geometry, the bending shape expands (dynamic preview).
To enter an expanding bending shape
- Move the crosshairs to the component line which is to serve as the base line. You can control how the bent-up segment expands by moving the crosshairs.
All the component geometries detected by the program are highlighted in the detection color you have specified in the options. In addition, the side at which the bar overlaps and/or the former anchor point are marked with a cross in the selection color.
- Click in the workspace as soon as the bending shape is displayed at the desired position.
Notes:
- For the freeform shape, the individual segments of the bending shape also expand to adapt to edges that are not connected. You can use the crosshairs to change the position of the segment relative to the edge. This way, you can quickly and easily create bending shapes at corners of stairs without having to use track tracing. Using the input options, you can
match and, if necessary, modify the z coordinate of the 3D model in order to create a 3D bending shape and
undo the individual segments you have entered. - You can select the Straight bar as point option for the Straight bar bending shape and place the bar within another bar, if necessary. You cannot change the later.
- For the Spacer bending shape, you can use the input options to specify how to display the spacer: you can choose between Front view and Side view.
