Calculating overlap length

Tool(s): Convert, Match Elements + Span Reinforcement, Support Reinforcement and Edge Reinforcement (area reinforcement) + Modify Placement Parameters

Based on the parameters you have defined, the program calculates the overlap length for the current diameter and the selected steel grade and concrete grade (these parameters are displayed for information only).

To define the overlap length

1. Choose the Composite zone and enter a value for Req'd. As / Existing As.
2. Select the Compression bar option if you want the system to calculate the overlap length for a compression bar.

   When this option is selected, the value you enter for the Amount without longitudinal stagger and the type you select in the Anchorage area do not have any effect on the overlap length.

3. When you have not activated the Compression bar option, enter the Amount without longitudinal stagger and select an anchorage type.

   The overlap length is displayed. Use the Round length to entry box to determine the round-off value for the bar length.

4. Click OK to confirm the settings.
