Parameters for placing symbol fixtures along a line

Linear fixture

Line as a construction line / fixture

Specify whether the polyline you enter is created as a construction line or fixture. When set to Fixture, you can select a linear fixture from Allplan‘s fixture catalog.

Symbol fixture

Select a symbol fixture from Allplan‘s fixture catalog.

Placing parameters

You can define the start offset, end offset and eccentricity for symbol fixtures with reference to the polyline. In addition, you can specify whether the fixtures are created using a fixed offset or a fixed number.

Note: When you enter an offset or a number that is larger than 1, the program always interprets the start and end offset as fixed values. The last offset to the axis is thus calculated automatically and usually differs from the value you have entered for offset. When you set the number to 1, the program places one fixture so that it is centered in the relevant section of the polyline.
If the total length or the relevant section of the polyline is smaller than the sum of the start and end offset, then no fixture is placed in the relevant section.

Entire polyline / section of polyline

Specify whether the offsets and, if necessary, the number of fixtures are applied to the entire polyline or to each individual section of the polyline.

Place in precast element

Rotation (precast wall)

This setting only applies to fixtures that are parallel to the wall surface. Otherwise, the program places the fixtures without rotation, regardless of the setting you make here.

Positive (rotation in wall) / Negative (rotation out of wall)

The program always rotates the fixture about the local z axis (regardless of the placing direction). When set to Positive, the local y axis points into the wall and when set to Negative, the local y axis points out of the wall. The local y axis is always perpendicular to the wall surface.

Angle

You can rotate the fixture. The polyline is used as the axis of rotation. When you enter a positive angle, the program always rotates the fixture so that the local z axis points into the wall, regardless of the placing direction.
