Fills with gradients, parameters

RGB color selection

You can use the Color Gradients and Transparency dialog box to enter parameters for fills with gradients and/or transparency.

Note: You can use Export PDF Data to export fills with transparency to a PDF file. All you need to do is select the Export document as a bitmap option.
However, the amount of data generated increases significantly, which may cause problems when you want to send or import PDF files of large layouts.

Note: When it comes to printing, there are some restrictions for fills with gradients and/or transparency.

Color gradients

No gradient

Use this setting when you want to define transparent, single-color fills without gradients.

One color

When you want to use one color only, you can define its intensity using the slide control.
When you move the slide control towards dark, the shift is from black to the color you have selected. When the slide control is moved towards light, the shift is from white to the color selected. When the slide control is in the middle, a color gradient is not visible.

You can modify the color later by clicking the Color button. The Select RGB Color dialog box opens.

Two colors

Click the Color buttons to select two colors. The Select RGB Color dialog box opens.

The intensity of the gradient results from the contrast of the two different colors.

Transparency

This is where you can set a starting and end value for the transparency of the color gradient. The squares, which are displayed in the background of the preview, help you judge the degree of transparency.

Shading styles

You can choose between the following shading styles: Linear, From corner, From center or Round.

Tip: In the Angle area you can enter an angle between -180 and 180 degrees by which the color gradient is rotated.

Variants

You can select from one of the four options provided per shading style.

Angle

This is where you can enter an angle between -180 and 180 degrees by which the color gradient is rotated.
When you click , the dialog box closes temporarily and you can adopt the angle by clicking an element in the workspace.

Select side

When you enable this check box, you can select a side of a polygon in the workspace that is to serve as the gradient's baseline instead of the screen coordinate system.

Reduce <<

Clicking Reduce << takes you back to the Select RGB Color dialog box.

Match color

You can use the colors and parameters of an existing fill with gradients. The properties of simple fills cannot be copied.
