Options, desktop environment, point snap
Here you can specify the drawing files to be scanned for points and elements. Both options are generally left on.
If both options are not active, you can neither snap to points nor use track tracing
In active documents
When In active documents is selected, elements and points in the active document and in the drawing files open in edit mode are found.
In drawing files open in reference mode
When In drawing files open in reference mode is selected, elements and points in drawing files that are open in reference mode are found.
