Entering points, example 4

Entering points, examples

This example explains how to create a window opening at a distance of 2 m from the end of a wall.

Solution

  1. Click Window.
  2. Click in the dialog line. Now you can enter the offset directly. Move the crosshairs to the exterior wall side and enter the distance between the window opening and the point snapped in the dialog line.

Tip: When you move the crosshairs to the outside corner of the exterior wall, the Reference point message appears. As long as the point is snapped and you can see this message, you can lock the point by clicking it. This ensures that the program always snaps to the correct point even when you move the mouse.

  3. Click in the wall or press ENTER to confirm.

The preview of the window opening is inserted.

Tip: Click to disable the Direct offset entry option in the dialog line.

  4. If you want, you can now change the width of the window in the dialog line. Press ENTER to confirm.

    The window is drawn.

  5. The next window opening is attached to the crosshairs and the end point of the last window entered is snapped.

  6. Repeat steps 2 to 3 to insert more windows.

  7. You can also use the mouse to define the width of the opening.
