Circular Component

To draw a circular component based on a circle

• A tool for creating linear components is active (e.g. Wall or Strip Foundation). You have already defined the component’s parameters.

1. Use the Division parameter on the context toolbar to define the number of segments in a curved wall; this number is based on a full circle.
2. Place the center.
   

   • Click the point.
   • Align to points using the linear snap function and click the point.
   • Define the point by making entries in the dialog line.

   Tip: The shortcut menu and dialog line provide tools and options to assist you in the process of entering points. For more information, see Tools and Options.

   The position of the component axis and its direction of extension are displayed in the preview. In the case of components with multiple construction layers (e.g. walls), you can see the component setup and the thickness of the various layers. The position of the fist layer is identified by the number 1, which is displayed in the color associated with the component axis.

3. Now check the preview to see whether the component’s offset direction is correct, and if necessary, click Reverse offset direction on the context toolbar to change its offset direction.

   You can change this setting at any time while entering components.

4. Define the radius of the circle in one of the following ways:
   • Click a point.
   • Click an element. The circle is then placed on a tangent to the element.
   • Enter the value for the radius in the dialog line and press Enter to confirm.
5. To draw a full circle, enter 0 for the start angle and 360 for the end angle or click the same point twice.
